Rain doesn't stop play!!!

Well after a good show on Thursday- Friday we awoke to howling gales and pouring rain. The windwas that strong by the youngstock sheds we could barely open the huge doors to get in to bed down and feed. So it meant a day of rest for the horses which was all well and good for the ones which had been to the show but for the ones who had stood in the day before this was not too good. Especially as we knew Saturday was bringing a customer to our door to try 4 and 5yr olds!!
So on waking this am to slightly less of a storm we thought the viewing could go ahead as planned!! Then the heavens opened the wind got stronger poor Carl was starting to look like a drowned rat!! So at this point we thought the best plan was to hire an indoor and there is one at Caerhowel which actually is closer for most people than coming to us. Only when we got there we thought the surface looked a little deep to jump the young horses so instead we used their lovely outdoor arena and braved the rain! ( which I have to say was only coming down 1/10th of the force it was at home.
Anyway the young horses had a lovely time and for them it was as good as a show to go on the wagon to a new venue so on arrivng home we decided to hibernate tomorrow instead of going to Hartpury and maybe have a trip to Aintree next Wednesday instead.
But I have decided that all this rain must be the reason for the Welsh as a race being short-they're probably mean't to be be tall but standing in all this water makes the shrink!! Rain Rain Rain!!!!!
