More Foals!
Sunday 15 May 2011 11:312 new foals and a show a Weston Lawns.
Well on Saturday evening we were just settling down to rest before a night of foal watch followed by an early start to Weston Lawns. Just a quick check at 7.30pm before we put our feet up revealed a restless Faith's Reward within half an hour she'd foaled a bay filly by Candoletto. Whilst we were watching Faith, Gerry started to parade her box but it took until 12.30am for her to really start and by 1am she'd produced a strapping chestnut colt by Catoki.
Then this morning we seet of to Weston Lawns for the Newcomers and British Novice. The team performed well Barney and Zatina both had a fence but this was more due to lack of shows lately.Then Cecile, Anouk and Zipina all jumped clear Cecile had a fence in the jump off but Carl and Zipina managed a double clear and 4th place and myself and Anouk managed adouble clear and 7th. The babies excelled themselves on behaviour as the collecting rings can get very busy but all behaved well. Cordino and Chiquita both had 4 faults in the jump off whereas lambus managed a slick double clear. So after qite a short day we were able to come home. As I write this I am back on foal watch duty and 3 mares are thinking about it!!!
