Computer says NO!!!!!Highs and lows!

Well after several weeks of playing up the computer is now virus free!! This means I can update this page again but where to start?
The highs and lows of foaling seems the best place- on the 20/5 we lost our mare Replica during foaling but not before we'd delivered a fabulous filly foal by Singapore who is now the cause of many sleepless nights due to the bottle feeding. Then on the 26/5 Idea Mia brought her colt foal too early - we had brought her to the stables as she was preparing herself but a couple of days later when she foaled we could see the result was not going to be good she had a red bag birth too and unfortunatly despite our best efforts the colt didnt survive through the night.

On a better note though the night before we were to travel to Wales and West for the 2nd round show we delivered 3 healthy foals and as we were making preparations to leave a 4th mare had her filly all went well and are now out in the fields.

We have attended several shows since I last reported Weston Lawns for the 6yr olds and Wales and West for the 2nd rounds and also Kingswood for the Discovery 2nd round. No major placings to report but lots of clears recorded for next season's 2nd rounds. Zanzibar moved back up to jumping 1.30. Balia, Anouk and Lord Castell managed a three day show without touching a pole between them but unfortunatly for Lord Castell he fell victim to the distance to the water jump in the Newcomers 2nd round and didn't quite get there so had a stop then carried on to finish foot perfect. This seemed to be the bogey fence for many in the class as if you rode for 9 strides some either didn't take off or didn't make the tape and the 8 strides meant not quite getting there!! He jumped so well though, we are keen now for our next attempt!! Avola jumped two clear rounds in her Discovery regional but faulted in the last round to gain a 9th placing. Lord Castell jumped the National 6yr old again but afer a double clear we withdrew him from the third round as he'd already qualified.
Inbetween all of this we've managed microchip and document about 17 of the foals, castrate quite a few of the two and three year olds, get 10 mares back in foal and have 17 awaiting their first scan and also sell several of the youngstock-so busy times at Castell!!!!
Now where's that bottle of milk for the foal!!!!
