More Foals!More shows and more snow!!!!

Well 2 more mares have foaled and we seem to be following the filly trend!! Boselli has had a fabulous Quality Time and R has had an equally good Zambesi.
Then we stayed with the outdoor season on the show front returned to Weston Lawns with a lorry load of young horses and both Lucy Lancer and Cioletta were placed in the British Novice and Del Quinto attended his first show and jumped around for one fence down so they were good. The following week we went to Southview and 4 of the babies achieved double clears Calou, Conwy, Lucy Lancer and Danna then Chagall jumped the Newcomers for a fence down but every week the ride is improving he gets confidence in his surroundings. Yesterday we took 7 to Field House and had another good day - Cioletta moved up to 1.05 which for her 5th show was good to jump straight into, especially with a treble and a water tray to contend with!! Chagall jumped a lovely clear in the newcomers but as I happened to take a moment in his jump off to think how good he felt I promptly forgot where I was going!!! Ulrich hasn't had a trip for several weeks so we popped him into the 1.15 for a bit of fun as his last couple of shows he'd been jumping 1.30 and he enjoyed his round and won the class. Avola and Lord Castell both jumped clear in the Foxhunter - Avola had an unlucky 4 faults in the jump off whereas 'Alf' managed a double clear for 3rd place so a pleasing result for their first outdoor of the season. Balia jumped both the 1.10 and the 1.20 for 4 faults but both were lovely rounds and Zanzibar jumped a lovely double clear in the 1.30.
When we returned home the drive had been undergoing work which meant we couldn't get the wagon up so by the time we had walked all the horses up the drive and caught a mare in for inseminating it was going dark. The weather forecast hadn't sounded too bad and as the showers had passed and it seemed quite warm we left the mares and foals out and came inside at about 9.30pm - so you can imagine the shock this morning when I woke at 6.30am to a blanket of snow!! So today Mark and Carl have been gathering about 140 horses from around the farm and back into the sheds and away from the howling wind and snow - unfortunatly I had to stay in the house by the fire doing paperwork!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
